Welcome to Ardbeg Grooves and one of the most exciting releases from the distillery we have seen in many years. Every year on Ardbeg Day we seen the release of a new dram from the distillery to celebrate this annual distillery event. We have been a committee member of Ardbeg since the early days and have tasted through each Ardbeg Day release since the start f these limited edition celebratory releases. Yes we have to say this is by far one of the most enjoyable drams of recent years from the distillery. It reminds us a lot of the Ardbog of several years back with its deep winesque structure and earthy texture. We did also recently taste the extra limited edition committee release the precursors the public bottling but today we focus on that whisky you have a much better chance of getting your hands on.
As documented Ardbeg Grooves is a special release of experimental wine casks that have been so heavily charred that deep wide grooves have opened up along the barrels structure allow for that charred effect so loved in an Ardbeg but also the deep perpetration into the wood in maturation. Release date is set for Saturday June 2 2018 and we highly recommend you dig this dram.
We are so looking forward to the coming Ardbeg Day festivities!
